Our client is a multinational company in the The Hague region. Their Creative Services team will from October 1st 2010 have an opening for an Account Manager. This department provides a full range of services for internal customers in the area of Graphic Design, New Media and Brand Communications.
In this position you’ll be managing the Design and Production of a wide variety of communication materials for internal customers. These materials include campaign visualisation and conceptual design, printed items, new media, promotional items and items to support conferences and events.
You will have:
- Direct control of a large number of Design & Print jobs (ranging from large complex projects to straight forward jobs) and be in direct control of the costs related to Design & Print Production.
- Direct ownership of Design & Print projects throughout its lifecycle.
You will be:
- Building excellent working relationships with the in-house Design Studio, other departments, external design companies and other external suppliers of printing materials, communications materials and services.
- Building and maintaining excellent internal relationships with clients, stakeholders and other internal service departments.
Your principal responsibilities will be:
- Clarifying the customer brief, working with the customer to confirm it, and where necessary shape their requirements
- Briefing the design and production teams, ensuring they are clear on all key elements of the brief
- Calculation of costs for each project, discussions with customers over any potentially cost savings.
- Quality control at the design and production stages, ensuring that the outputs meet the requirements of the brief, comply with brand guidelines and meet standards;
- Liaison with the customer throughout the project life-cycle to ensure they are aware of progress, approvals, costs, etc.
- Administration of each project to ensure it is recorded on and managed through the relevant systems;
- Developing and recording project plans for their projects and managing resource accordingly.
Job Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
Mandatory
- 3-5 years account management experience in a customer-facing position in a creative environment;
- 1-2 year’s exposure to Design & Print Production;
- Fluency in Dutch and English (written and spoken);
- Good working knowledge of all appropriate MSOffice software;
- Experienced working with budgets;
- Strong interpersonal and customer relation skills;
- Experience of working in an environment with strict brand guidelines;
Desired
- Professional knowledge of printing process;
- Experience on Macintosh platform and DTP applications (Adobe Illustrator / Photoshop / InDesign);
- Fluency in other languages.
Please note that this is a temporary (32 hours or more) position for approximately 7-8 months! Your commitment for the entire period is a must. Contract renewal after this initial hiring is not excluded, but not to be expected.
