Our client is a multinational company in the The Hague region. Their Graphic Media and Publications department currently has an opening for a Senior Project Manager. This department provides a full range of services for internal customers in the area of Graphic Design, New Media and Brand Communications. The fulltime 40 hours a week position is for 6 months (April to September 2010). If candidate’s performance is outstanding and if business develops according to ambition there is a slight possibility for a long-term assignment.

Job Profile
As senior Project Manager your main responsibility (60-70%) will be the Project Management of a high profile project. Your main tasks will be the overall planning, guidance and quality control of all deliverables of the project, together with adequate communication to clients, suppliers and internal organisation.

You will be working with internal and external partners (various external –print/animation and distribution- suppliers). You will be responsible for maintaining the highest level of quality by establishing, following and enforcing standard working procedures. You also will have an advisory role towards customers to manage expectations and come up with creative and cost effective solutions.

Your principal responsibilities:

  • Clarifying the customer brief, working with the customer for confirmation, and where necessary shape their requirements;
  • Steering the design and production process, ensuring everybody working on the project is aware of all key elements of the brief;
  • Calculation of costs for each project, discussions with customers and suppliers on any potentially alternatives and/or cost savings;
  • Quality control at all stages of the project lifecycle, ensuring that the output meets the requirements of the brief and is compliant with brand guidelines and standards;
  • Liaison with the customer throughout the project life cycle to ensure they are aware of progress, approvals, costs, etc.;
  • Adequate administration of each part of the project, ensuring it is recorded on and managed through the relevant systems;
  • Developing and recording project plans for their projects and managing resource accordingly.

Candidate profile:

  • Minimal BA level education in design or communications;
  • BA level working experience in business and economic processes in a customer-facing position in a creative environment;
  • At least 5 years experience in a project management and/or traffic position at a large – preferably international - design or communications agency;
  • Excellent planning & project management skills;
  • Good visual design and communication skills (able to judge design and communicate with various parties/agencies concerned);
  • Able to advise internal customers on house style and Brand issues;
  • Good knowledge of graphic media production and printing processes;
  • Strong customer relationship skills;
  • Fluent in English (both oral and written), preferably native;
  • Commercial mindset and problem solving approach, work to deliver the most economic and effective solutions;
  • Flexible and stress resistant;
  • This is a full time (40 hours-/5 days a week) position.
